For this assignment, our class was to create a movie poster using a popular quote from said movie. My movie was Indiana Jones and The Raiders of the Lost Ark, and the quote was “Snakes? Why’d it have to be snakes?” I decided to create a poster that is similar to the original movie poster, which was printed on parchment and hand-drawn. I wanted the snake in the poster to be long and winding, mimicking the snakes from the scene in which the quote was uttered. I used the scales of the snake to display the quote, in which it wraps around and gradually gets smaller. Indiana Jones’ fallen hat and torch are surrounded by the snake, further representing the danger felt in the scene.
